PlayChessOnline.eu Terms of Service
playchessonline.eu · Last updated
Welcome to PlayChessOnline.eu! By using our website at playchessonline.eu you agree to these simple terms. We've tried to keep them short and friendly, because chess should be about the game - not about reading legal documents.
A free service
PlayChessOnline.eu is free for everyone. There is no paywall, no premium tier, and no required subscription. You don't need an account to play against bots, solve puzzles, study openings, or train endgames.
Because the service is free and provided as a labor of love for the chess community, we offer it "as is," without any guarantees. See the disclaimer below.
Acceptable use
Please use PlayChessOnline.eu in a way that keeps it enjoyable for everyone. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or damage the site or its servers.
- Use automated tools to scrape or mirror the site at scale.
- Reverse engineer the AI bots in order to republish them elsewhere.
- Use PlayChessOnline.eu to break the rules of any other chess platform - for example, by cheating in online games. Our tools are for learning and fair play.
- Use the site for anything illegal or harmful to other people.
Our content and yours
The PlayChessOnline.eu name, logo, website design, source code, and AI bot characters are ours. You may use the site for personal chess study and enjoyment, but please don't copy, rebrand, or resell our work.
Chess positions, opening theory, and historical games are part of the shared chess heritage and belong to everyone. Some puzzles and openings are derived from publicly available collections and remain under their original licenses.
Anything you upload (such as a PGN file in the Bot Detector or Game Analyzer) stays in your browser and remains entirely yours - we never see it and never claim any rights to it.
Changes to the service
PlayChessOnline.eu is actively developed. We may add, change, or remove features at any time - new bots, new training modes, redesigns, or even the planned online multiplayer and newsletter. We'll do our best not to break things you rely on, but we can't guarantee that every feature will remain available forever.
Disclaimer and liability
PlayChessOnline.eu is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While we care a lot about quality, we can't promise that the site will always be available, free of bugs, or that the AI bots will always make sensible moves (they are, after all, trained to play like humans - which sometimes means blundering!).
To the maximum extent allowed by law, PlayChessOnline.eu is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the site. Your use of PlayChessOnline.eu is at your own discretion.
Privacy
We take privacy seriously and collect as little data as possible. For the full story, please read our Privacy Policy.
Updates to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally as PlayChessOnline.eu grows. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always show when the latest change was made. If you continue to use PlayChessOnline.eu after an update, that means you accept the new terms.
